Dr. Torsten Freund is a pioneer in Digital Product Passports and oversees the Chem-X Project Management Office. From 2020 to 2023, he led the Battery Pass program for the Global Battery Alliance delegated from BASF SE, delivering its first Battery Passport proof of concept. He is involved in several projects and standardization efforts, chaired DIN-DKE SPEC 99100, and is a member of JTC24. Since joining BASF in 1996, Dr. Freund has held various technical, marketing, and strategy roles . He has a PhD in Chemistry and Material Science
